MINUTES OF THE INDIAN HILLS COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION
HOMEOWNER’S MEETING
|
June 5, 2006 SUMMARY The annual meeting of the homeowner’s association was held at the community center to elect the Board of Directors. The proposed slate was generated and distributed in advance, in accordance with Article VI of the By-laws. No additional topics were raised from the floor for a recorded vote, although there was general discussion among the membership on current issues. The Board of Directors for the period July 1, 2006 – June 30, 2007 includes:
BUSINESS The Secretary having declared a quorum present according to Article VIII, Section A of the by-laws (>20%, or 27 homeowners), the meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM. Attending in person were:
Sophia Phillips, President, presided over the meeting and presented the slate of candidates. There being 47 ballots cast with none against, the officer slate was elected. There were six at-large candidates for five positions, decided by simple plurality. The meeting adjourned at 8:15 PM. DISCUSSIONS Kurt Riegel gave a summary of the goals and plans of the Severn River Associations, and Indian Hills’ role in assisting the organization. He mentioned the association would like to meet in our Clubhouse, which was well received by the homeowners. Tony Rufolo said the Broadneck Federation, of which Indian Hills is a member, has similar goals, and based on the meetings he’s attended deserves our further support. Community maintenance was discussed. It was noted the Tennis Courts desperately need to be resurfaced. The Board is seeking a competent sign maker to replace the entry sign and to repair the Glen Eden sign. It was suggested signs may also be needed around the playground stating the facilities are only for residents and their guests in order to keep out noisy and littering parties. The start of the landscaping to correct the standing water around the playground, pool, and tennis courts has been delayed. The contractor says it will begin by mid-June, which means there could be a significant residual muddy mess for the Family Fun day on July 7. There was a discussion on how well the security lights are placed on the south end of the community area. It was suggested the Board consider a motion detector switch or a user-activated timed switch to minimize intrusion on the neighbors. Some felt that all-night coverage was a more effective security deterrent. The Board will address this at the next meeting. Respectfully Submitted,
