7 PM  Clubhouse

Present:  Diane Nicholson, Sophia Phillips, Ralph Johnson, Teresa Woo, Jim Gooding, Dara Adams.  Excused:  Melissa Bowen, Susan Braddock, Bill Anselm.

Rt. 2 sign and lighting update – The signs are in place and look good.  Teresa is going to check with Kelly Electric to see about adjusting the lights but everyone is pleased to having lighting at the Rt. 2 entrance.  There have been lots of good comments.  The concrete spill has also been removed from the roadway, but the power washing has not yet been done because water was not available at the house where they planned to connect the hose.  They will try again tomorrow.

Mortgage exploration and recommendations – Ralph Johnson and Sophia Phillips reported on remortgage of the clubhouse property, and they have found a bank that will do a 10 year loan at a lower rate than our current loan, which has a balloon payment that will be due in November.  With the new loan, the clubhouse will be totally paid off in 10 years.  Sophia is working with the County to get approvals and a date when the papers can be signed.

The solar power project - Diane is seeking to create a committee similar to the Sign Committee that will look for funding opportunities, grants, explore low cost loans, etc.  Bill Phillips has done a lot of work already on the solar options – now we need to find funding for the project if we want to do it. Diane will seek members for the committee and report results at the next meeting. Bill Phillips will be asked to be on, or chair the committee, whichever he prefers!

Nominating Committee Preliminary Report and discussion – There was a discussion of next year’s Board and nominations.  Things are moving slowly in terms of volunteers.  Dara Adams and Sophia Phillips indicated that neither is available to run again.  Diane Nicholson, Teresa Woo, Ralph Johnson, and Jim Gooding agreed to run again, but Diane mentioned that there was a possibility that she might be moving sometime during the year, so it would be preferable if she was not President again.  Kurt Riegel and Daryl Huntley have indicated that they will run for “at large” seats on the Board.  More people are needed in order not to have a “yes” or “no” ballot.  Each member of the Board will approach other neighbors to encourage them to run for Board positions.

Work Week Planning – April 24th - May 2nd
A list of things to be accomplished will be posted on the club house doors and people can cross off projects as they are completed.  Both weekends will have Board members present to facilitate access to the clubhouse, tools, etc.  Refreshments such as coffee and bagels will be available both weekends.

Respectfully submitted,
Diane Nicholson
Secretary of the moment
